Fees and fee protection
Course fees, payment arrangements, non-tuition charges and refund conditions are provided before enrolment in the relevant Course Brochure and International Student Letter of Offer and Agreement.
- International students are generally not required to pay more than 50% of tuition before commencement, unless they choose to do so.
- For a course shorter than 25 weeks, PIC may require the full course cost before commencement.
- PIC participates in the Australian Government Tuition Protection Service.
- Prepaid tuition fees are managed in accordance with applicable fee-protection requirements.
What course fees cover
Tuition fees
Required training and assessment, one copy of learning materials unless otherwise stated, and one set of eligible certification documents.
Non-tuition fees
May include materials, extra reassessment, replacement certification, late payment, late assessment submission and other listed charges.
Optional materials, stationery, uniforms, OSHC, accommodation, airport services, transaction costs and card surcharges are not included unless expressly stated.
Payments and overdue fees
Payments may be made by bank transfer or in person by credit card or EFTPOS. Students experiencing difficulty should contact PIC promptly to discuss possible alternative arrangements.
Overdue fees may lead to warnings, debt collection, suspension of services or withdrawal from the course. International student default may also be reported through PRISMS after the required process.
Key refund situations

| Course starts but PIC cannot deliver it in full | Refund based on the weekly tuition fee multiplied by the weeks in the default period. |
| Student cannot commence due to qualifying illness, disability or death of a close family member | Full refund of tuition and non-tuition fees paid. |
| Visa refused before commencement | Course fees received less the lower of 5% of the fees or $500. |
| Visa refused after commencement | Full refund of non-tuition fees plus tuition calculated for the default period. |
| Student withdraws or does not commence | Tuition refund calculated using the weekly tuition fee and the default period. |
| Credit granted for units | Pro-rata adjustment based on course fees and the number of credited units. |
How to request a refund
- Withdraw formally: Submit the required Student Request Form where withdrawal applies.
- Apply in writing: Complete the Application for Refund Form and explain the reason for the request.
- Assessment: PIC reviews the services provided, the costs incurred and the applicable policy conditions.
- Written outcome: PIC advises the decision and reasons within 28 working days.
- Payment or appeal: An approved refund is paid to the original payer. A decision may be appealed under the Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure.
